Join us at the Montana Western Legacy Center in Whitehall, MT, for a fully immersive Gold Prospecting & Panning Class that goes far beyond simply learning how to pan for gold. Discover not only how to recover gold from a pan, but also where to find it, and the techniques prospectors use to locate gold in Montana's rivers, creeks, and placer deposits.

This hands-on experience combines history, geology, and practical field skills to teach you how real prospectors search for gold. You'll learn how to read waterways, recognize natural gold traps, identify productive material, and understand why gold is found in certain locations. Then, you'll put those skills into practice as you learn the art of gold panning and recover gold yourself.

Whether you're a beginner, outdoor enthusiast, history buff, or aspiring prospector, this class will give you the knowledge and confidence to start finding gold on your own adventures.
